Bill Gates & Melinda French officially divorced after 27 years of marriage

New Delhi: The final legal process of divorce between Microsoft co-founders Bill Gates and Melinda French Gates has also been completed. On Monday, the couple parted ways after a King County Superior Court judge signed the divorce decree.

According to the news report, the court documents did not provide any details regarding the division of their assets. Bill Gates, once the richest man in the world, has a net worth of about $150 billion. The couple met in 1987, when Melinda started working as a product manager at Microsoft. Both got married in 1994 in Hawaii.

Gates Foundation:

The Seattle-based Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation is the most influential private foundation in the world. The trust has an investment of about $50 billion. Founded in the year 2000, this organization focuses on health and development in the world as well as education issues in America.

About a month ago, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation announced that they would continue to work for the trust despite their separation. However, if Bill and Melinda decide after two years that they cannot continue in their roles, Melinda will resign from her positions as co-president and trustee.
