New Delhi: The Blue Origin of American billionaire Jeff Bezos is preparing to take people on a space tour from July 20. The company will begin an auction for the first flight of its New Shepherd aircraft.

The proceeds from the five-week online auction will be given to the company's foundation under which mathematics and science education will be encouraged. The first step of man on the moon was on 20 July 1969.

Space tour by Jeff Bezos:

The company has set this date for the space flight to celebrate its 52nd anniversary. In the first flight, the passenger will get a seat for the 11-minute journey at the auction and will have a chance to go 100 km above the earth in space.

What's the process?

Customers will get a four-day experience. Out of this, three days of pre-flight training will be given at the company's launch site located in Texas. The company's New Shepherd Rocket & Capsule combo is designed to carry six passengers simultaneously into space, where passengers will feel weightless. The six observation windows in this capsule will be about three times larger than the Boeing 747.

Blue Origin is not just a private company to take a tour of the space. Elon Musk's Space Exploration Technologies Corporation and Richard Branson's Virgin Galactic Holdings Inc. are also competing to attract astronauts.

On April 14, Bezos indicated on social media only after a test flight that Blue Origin would soon take passengers on a space walk. Blue Origin director Arian Cornell said that the company is now ready to take a space walk after a test flight of 15 rockets and landing of 16 capsules.
