CIA director met Taliban:

The special thing is that the US CIA chief's visit to Kabul has come at a time when the Taliban is taking a tough stand on the withdrawal of American troops. The Taliban has given a deadline of August 31 for the withdrawal of American troops.

The Taliban has made it clear that as long as there is not a single American soldier in Afghanistan, they will not proceed with the process of government formation. On the other hand, US President Biden has taken this deadline of the Taliban seriously. This incident is being seen as a link to this episode.

The talks are being kept confidential by the Biden administration. No details of Burns' visit have been given by the US government. White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki declined to discuss Burns' visit. The Biden administration, however, acknowledged that he was in regular contact with the Taliban.

The CIA and the National Security Council declined to comment on Burns' visit, which was previously reported by The Washington Post. On behalf of the Biden administration, it has been said that this visit has nothing to do with the withdrawal of American troops. It further said that the purpose of this visit has nothing to do with the withdrawal of American troops in Kabul or the August 31 deadline of the Taliban.
