A Briton tries to kills Donald Trump at his rally

Las Vegas: A Britisher, Michael Steven Sandford ,tried to kill Donald Trump at his rally in Las Vegas in the wee hours on Tuesday.

• He had snatched the pistol from a police officer who was providing security at the event.
• The 20-year-old said before the court that he had been planning to shoot Trump for about a year.
• He has been remanded in custody until July 5 and is charged with an act of violence ‘on restricted grounds’.

What officials said:

Foreign Office spokesman said: "We are providing full security cover to him following the arrest of the British national in Las Vegas."
