Lucknow: The UP government has issued a guideline regarding the Muharram and Ganesh festival in view of the serious condition of corona infection in the state.

According to the guideline released on Monday, where pandals will not be decorated in public places on Ganesh Chaturthi on the 22nd of August, there will be a ban on the procession or tajia being taken out during the upcoming Moharram starting on 30th August. The government directed the administration to maintain strict security system.

No Tazia in Muharrama and gathering allowed:

Additional Chief Secretary Home Avneesh Kumar Awasthi has said in a directive issued to all the district collectors of the state that no idol should be installed in the puja pandal anywhere on the occasion of the upcoming festival Ganesh Chaturthi like Sri Krishna Janmashtami nor permission for procession will be given. Similarly, during Moharram, no procession and Taziya should be allowed.

Guidelines issued by Yogi Govt for Ganesh Utsav and Muharram

The officers of the administration and police should hold meetings of the Peace Committee and also take full cooperation with the religious leaders to maintain order.

In addition, intensive police checking should be done by deploying additional police force in sensitive and containment zones.

It should also be ensured that no crowds should be gathered at any religious place. Especially strict monitoring of social media and strict action should be taken against those who plot to spoil the atmosphere.

It is said in the instructions that on the upcoming festivals, everyone should worship in their respective homes, there will be no event in public places. The order also states that it is essential that no more than five persons gather at a time to prevent infection of the corona at religious sites.
