Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's driver had to pay a fine of Rs 500 for chewing tobacco at the secretariat here on Saturday.

The action was taken against Aditya Prakash by the anti-tobacco squad, which was formed few days back after CM's strict directions to ban all tobacco products and plastic bags in government offices across the state.

Adityanath had administered a Swacchata (cleanliness) pledge to state bureaucrats and ordered them to keep office premises clean soon after taking the oath as Chief Minister of UP.

The ban came after UP CM paid visit to the Secretariat Annexe building in Lucknow and saw spitting on the walls of the building.

Adityanath had issued directives to the officers in Uttar Pradesh to strictly follow the Centre's flagship Swacchata Abhiyan and also to play their part in its proper execution.
