Lucknow: All-India Akhara Parishad head Mahant Narendra Giri called on Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath at his official residence on Friday, a government spokesman said.

The meeting was with regards to the preparations for the Prayag Ardh Kumbh-2019.

"The Chief Minister and Mahant Giri held wide ranging and detailed deliberations on the successful organising of the mega religious event," the spokesman said.

During the meeting, Yogi Adityanath expressed his desire to meet all the office-bearers of the Akhada Parishad at the earliest.

He also assured the head of the Akhada Parishad that the state government was seriously committed to ensuring all facilities and fool-proof security for domestic and foreign visitors to the Ardh Kumbh in 2019 so that there is no inconvenience to them.

"All the arrangements would be in place in time," Yogi added.
