Story of a brave girl who is ready to fight social disorder

Mirzapur: A police station in this eastern district of Uttar Pradesh was in for a shock on Tuesday. A minor girl walked into the station with a packet in hand. On inquiry, it was revealed that the packet contained a foetus taken out after abortion done at the behest of her family members, without her consent.

The details she gave was as unnerving. A neighbouring boy who was in love with her had subsequently physical relationship. He bedded her for some time before it was found that she was pregnant. Her family members lost the cool when the boy refused to marry her on one pretext or another.

Looking for a way to get out of the social stigma, the family members decided to go for termination of pregnancy. However, it was not to the liking of the minor. A private hospital was approached which agreed for the same at a price.

Determined to fight all this out, the girl reached the police station with the foetus collected from the hospital and asked the police to take action against all those involved.

On this basis of her complaint, a case was registered against the hospital, the doctor who had operated upon her, father and the boy who had played with her. He has been taken in.
