Gorakhpur: GRP officer arrested for assaulting a girl in train
Gorakhpur: Inspector Tarun Pandey, who was accused of assaulting a girl in train has been arrested by the Circle Officer of Government Railway Police (GRP CO) Tripurari Pandey from Babhnan station near the district.
Being arrested twelve days after attempting the crime, Pandey was presented before the local court on Thursday last and was later sent to jail.

The incident:
- On March 24 last, an engineering student was travelling in the B2 compartment of AC Coach in Avadh Express train.
- GRP control room in-charge, Tarun Pandey, came near her seat and started trying to assault the girl.
- The victim, later, complaint to the security personnel of RFP and the First Information Report ( FIR) was lodged against the accused.
- The case was filed but Pandey was absconding since then.
CO GRP Tripurari Pandey said, "The investigation regarding the incident is on. Such kind of heinous acts will not be tolerated whether the accused is a common man or a police officer. Strict Action will be taken against the culprits."
