Gorakhpur: Firebrand Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Yogi Adityanath on Saturday took a dig at Samajwadi Party (SP) and Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) accusing them of polarising the people of Uttar Pradesh on the lines of casteism.

After casting his vote here, the BJP leader said, "The people of UP have become sick of SP and BSP. Now they are looking up to BJP for a change, as it is the only party that is contesting the polls on agendas like development and nationalism."

"SP and BSP have looted the state for years in the name of development. But BJP will bring back good governance after coming to power in the state. We are winning all nine seats of Gorakhpur as people here are highly impressed with the works of the central government," he added.

After casting her vote, Gorakhpur Mayor Dr Satya Pandey claimed that BJP is surely going to form majority government in UP.

The polling for the sixth phase of Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections began at 7 in the morning and will conclude at 5 in the evening. A total of 635 candidates are in fray for the 49 constituencies spread across seven districts of the state.
