Deputy CM Dinesh Sharma takes stock of board examinations via video conference

New Delhi: The newly appointed Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Dinesh Sharma tendered his resignation as the mayor of Lucknow on Monday.

Earlier on Sunday, he took oath as the deputy CM of the state, in CM Yogi Adityanath's cabinet. He is sharing the post with Keshav Prasad Maurya.

The ceremony, held in the state capital, witnessed the swearing-in of 21 cabinet ministers, nine Ministers of State (MoS) Independent Charge and 13 Ministers of State.

The oath taking ceremony was also attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and former UP CM Akhilesh Yadav.

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) received a huge mandate in the recently concluded Uttar Pradesh Assembly polls by winning 312 seats, while its allies also secured 13 seats, taking the alliance totoal to 325 in the 403-member Assembly.
