Lucknow: It’s a moment of immense pride for Lucknow Metro as it touches the glorious ridership figure of 2.51 crore today on 05.03.2020 making it a proud moment for everyone associated with Lucknow Metro.

Speaking on the occasion Shri. Kumar Keshav, Managing Director, UPMRC takes this moment to thank all the passengers of Lucknow Metro who have showered such immense support and warmth ever since the commencement of commercial services in 2017. He also mentioned that committed team of UPMRCL will continue to serve the people of the beautiful city of Lucknow in coming years.

Starting 6th September, 2017, Lucknow Metro trains have completed a total of 39,19,959 K ilometres. The Lucknow Metro trains have travelled equivalent to three round trips to the moon or around 98 times around the Earth.

Lucknow Metro trains complete an average of 343 trips everyday on the North-South corridor stretching from Chaudhary Charan Singh Airport to Munshipulia with nearly 60,000 passengers travelling by Lucknow Metro every day. With time, Lucknow Metro has become synonymous with a world class state-of- the- art public transport system that’s safe, energy-efficient, inclusive and has a dedicated workforce ready to serve the passengers with the best of their abilities.

The beautiful city of Lucknow which has a population of over 31 lakhs, received the monumental gift of Metro on September 5, 2017 and September 6, 2017 onward, the priority section from Transport Nagar to Charbagh was open for revenue operations followed by the inaugural of the complete section from CCS Airport to Munshipulia in a record time on 8 March, 2019. The credit of this success goes to the people of Lucknow, who have not only been extremely supportive and co-operative during the entire construction phase that lasted around 4.5 years but also have adopted an eco-friendly transport system paving way for a greener, cleaner city.
