UP: Single-day Covid jump breaches 27,000-mark, Lucknow tops tally with 6,598 cases

On Friday, 27,426 new coronavirus cases have been found in the state. While in Lucknow , new 6,598 cases of corona have been reported in a day.

Covid in UP:

Uttar Pradesh has broken all records of Covid infection this year. Uttar Pradesh on Friday reported its highest single-day spike in coronavirus numbers and for the first time crossed 27,000 new cases.

On Friday, 27,426 new coronavirus cases have been found in the state. While in Lucknow , new 6,598 cases of corona have been reported in a day.

UP Govt imposes Sunday Lockdown:

Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh govt on Friday announced Sunday lockdown in the state amidst the rise in Covid cases, reported ANI. The restrictions will come into effect at 8 PM Saturday night and remain in place till Monday 7 AM.

All essential services will be exempted from the restrictions.The govt has said that people without masks will pay a Rs 1100 fine if caught for the first time and if the same person continues to flout Covid guidelines and is seen without mask, he/she will have to pay a heavy fine of Rs 10,000.

Strict action against hospitals:

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has issued strict orders against all the hospitals that turn down patients sent to them on the recommendations of the district magistrates (DMs) and chief medical officer (CMOs). A case will be filed under the Epidemic Act against such hospitals.
