Lucknow: The fuel prices in country are increasing regularly from 18 days. In this regard opposition parties are doing protest against ruling party in several states. Today, Uttar Pradesh Congress president Ajay Kumar Lallu was protesting against fuel price hike. He and about 150 party activists also participated in this protest.

Ajay Kumar Lallu and all activists were arrested while protesting against the hike in fuel prices in the Lucknow Today.

'They had started their protest from the party headquarters here and going towards the Vidhan Sabha when they were stopped,' informed State Congress media convener Lalan Kumar Singh.

State Congress chief Lallu told that they were stopped near the GPO before being taken to the Eco Garden in Lucknow.

'We had started from the party headquarters drawing a tonga and were moving towards the Vidhan Sabha, when we were stopped near the GPO. We have been brought to the Eco Garden,' said Ajay Kumar Lallu.

State Congress chief Ajay Kumar Lallu also informed that not only in Lucknow but also they will protest in all over the state.

Prices of crude oil have come down:

'The entire world is facing an economic slowdown. Farmers, youth and poor people are witnessing problems. Prices of crude oil have come down but in India, for benefitting a handful of industrialists, the government is burning a hole in people's pocket,' Lallu alleged, demanding an immediate rollback in prices.

The prices of petrol and diesel have been steadily increasing since the last 19 days. This was the first time that the price of diesel was more than petrol. For the first time in the country, the price of a liter of diesel has been more than Rs 80. In these 19 days, the price of diesel has increased by 10 rupees 62 paise. While the price of petrol has increased by 8 rupees 66 paise during this period.
