Lucknow: Ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has decided to contest the polls under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, according to the sources.

However, there has been no official word on this from the BJP high command. But credible sources have informed the Times Now that Yogi Adityanath will be the chief minister face in the upcoming polls in Uttar Pradesh.

31.7% think Yogi good as CM'

Last month, the Times Now-C Voter survey had found that 43.1 per cent of people are likely to support the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the state while around 29.6 per cent could go with the Samajwadi Party (SP).

Around 31.7 per cent of people rated the performance of Yogi Adityanath as Chief Minister good, while 23.4 per cent said it was average and 39.5 per cent think it was poor.

When asked if the voters 'are angry with the Adityanath-led BJP government in UP and want the government to change', 48.7 per cent said they are angry and want a change, 27.9 per cent said they are angry but do not want a change. 23.4 per cent say they are not angry with the government and that no change is needed.

When asked ' Who is the most preferable candidate to be the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh?', 42.2 per cent said Yogi Adityanath, 32.2 per cent want SP chief Akhilesh Yadav as the CM, 17% went with BSP supremo Mayawati and a mere 2.9 per cent think Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi is a preferable candidate for the post.
