More trouble for Gayatri Prajapati; to be chargesheeted in another case

Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh police has framed chargesheet against former minister Gayatri Prasad Prajapati for framing social activist Nutan Thakur and her husband IPS officer Amitabh Thakur in various fake criminal cases, including a rape case registered through a Ghaziabad woman.

The police has framed charges on the basis of a complaint filed by Nutan Thakur at the Gomti Nagar police station.

Speaking over the case, Gomti Nagar Station Officer (SO) Vishwajeet Singh said that the period of 90 days after Prajapati’s arrest in a gangrape case would get over on July 24 July, and hence the chargesheet shall be filed in the court tomorrow.

In the case registered in June 2015, former Chairperson State Woman Commission Zarina Usmani and its member Ashok Pandey have also been accused along with five others including Prajapati. The police had filed final report in this case in July 2015 but after the order of CJM Lucknow in Nutan’s protest application, the case was reinvestigated.

Then SSP Lucknow Manzil Saini had transferred this case to Security and Intelligence Services (SIS) of Crime Branch in March 2017 which had presented Prajapati before Judicial court in April 2017. Investigation against rest of the accused is still under process.
