UP Traffic Challan: The Uttar Pradesh government has provided significant relief to vehicle owners who have long pending traffic fines. The Yogi government has waived off all pending traffic challans issued between 2017 and 2021. This decision brings a sigh of relief to millions of vehicle owners in the state. The government's directive applies to all types of vehicles.

Removal from E-Challan Portal:
Instructions regarding this have been sent to all regional transport offices by the government. The order states that the list of pending challans in the courts should be obtained and removed from the E-Challan portal. According to the order, fines imposed from January 1, 2017, to December 31, 2021, are being waived off. The Transport Commissioner has stated that this provision has been implemented in Uttar Pradesh from June 2, 2023.

Pay Challans Online from Home:
After this period, vehicle owners need not worry. You can pay traffic fines online from the comfort of your home. You can gather all the necessary information on the official website of UP Traffic Police. All you need is the vehicle number. Moreover, if you have any complaints regarding incorrect challans, you can also lodge them on the same platform. However, upon issuance of a traffic challan, a message is also sent to the registered mobile number.
