Lucknow bench of Allahabad HC rejects plea for opening 22 closed doors of Taj Mahal

The Lucknow bench of Allahabad High Court on Thursday rejected a petition seeking its directions to the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) for opening 22 closed doors of the world-famous monument Taj Mahal, which is located in the Agra district of Uttar Pradesh.

Gyanvapi masjid case: Varanasi court allows survey of premises, retains court commissioner

Varanasi court on Thursday (May 12, 2022) refused to remove Court commissioner and allowed the videographic survey of the Gyanvapi mosque premises, which is situated adjacent to the Kashi Vishwanath temple. The district court said that the survey shall be completed by May 17, 2022.

Krishna Janmabhoomi case: Allahabad HC grants four-month to Mathura court for redressal of all cases

The Allahabad High Court on Thursday granted four-month to a Mathura court for redressal of all cases in the Krishna Janmabhoomi-Shahi Idgah Mosque dispute case. A single judge bench Justice Salil Kumar also told the court to proceed with an ex parte hearing if the involved parties (Sunni Waqf Board and others) are not represented.

The HC's directive came on a petition filed by Hindu Army chief Manish Yadav through advocate Mahendra Pratap Singh.

There is a dispute over the land on which the Shahi Idgah Mosque stands today in Mathura. It is located adjacent to the Krishna Janmabhoomi.

DS Chauhan given additional charge of UP DGP:

Director General of Police (Intelligence) Devendra Singh Chauhan was given additional charge of Uttar Pradesh DGP on Thursday.

Azam Khan's hearing in CBI court deferred due to 'absence of papers'

Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan, who is lodged in Sitapur jail for 38 months, was taken to Lucknow to appear before the CBI court.

However, due to the absence of a few documents on the part of the CBI, the hearing could not take place and the SP leader was set back to the Sitapur jail. The next date for the hearing will be given by this evening.
