Ayodhya: Shiv Sena President Uddhav Thackeray, on Saturday, said that he is in Ayodhya to meet Ram Lalla and he, along with thousands of Shiv Sena followers, want a date for the Ram Temple construction.

He said, "I am here to meet Ram Lalla. We want a date for the construction of Ram Temple. We will discuss rest of the things afterwards but first let us know when will the Ram Temple constructed?"

Shiv Sena Chief performed puja at Ayodhya's Lakshman Kila with his wife and son Aditya, followed by Aarti near Saryu river.

Meanwhile, the local administration has imposed Section 144 in Ayodhya, restricting the assembly of more than four people, as a precautionary measure.

The aim of the visit is grabbing centre-stage in the demand for constructing the Ram Temple as elections approach.

At the Laxman Kila, Thackeray was facilitated by a large number of Hindu holy men, besides common people and Sena supporters.

On Sunday morning, Thackeray will go for a darshan of Ram Lalla accompanied by local party leaders, saints and sadhus, interact with the media and later with the public, though plans for a public rally were not finalised yet.

Thackeray is alo carrying an urn containing the earth from the Shivneri Fort - the birthplace of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in Pune district of Maharashtra.

It is to be mentioned that over 4000 shiv Sainiks from Maharashtra, besides more from other parts of t he country have preceded him to Ayodhya since the past couple of days.

Party leaders including Sanjay Raut, Ministers Eknath Shinde, Rajan Vichare, Mumbai Mayor Vishwanath Mahadeshwar and others have been camping in Ayodhya since the past few days to prepare for Thackeray's visit.
