Smart City App to Include Safe City App

Lucknow, July 25 - The Safe City project has received updates from various departments as the Uttar Pradesh government is making swift progress with the implementation of the project. The Department of Urban Development has decided to integrate the Safe City App into its existing Smart City App. This decision was communicated during a presentation to the Chief Secretary, Durga Shankar Mishra, regarding the advancements in the Safe City project. It is worth mentioning that the Yogi government is actively working towards expediting the Safe City project's execution. To ensure timely completion, different departments have been assigned specific responsibilities.
Commencement of Daycare Centers in 16 Municipal Corporations As part of the project, the Urban Development Department has planned data collection for CCTV installation in 17 Municipal Corporations and Gautam Buddha Nagar during the first phase. The progress in this regard was shared with the Urban Development Department. The formation of the committee is expected to be expedited. The Safe City App will be incorporated into the Smart City App. Furthermore, apart from Varanasi, daycare centers for seniors have already been initiated in all 16 Municipal Corporations. In line with this, Dharmendra Pratap Singh, the Mission Director of the Smart City, has been appointed as the state-level nodal officer.
CCCTV and Panic Buttons to be Installed in City Buses The Transportation Department has been anticipating the installation of CCTV and panic buttons in all city buses, Ola, and Uber vehicles. In response to this, the Transportation Department has studied the Delhi model and provided the findings to the Principal Secretary of the Transportation Department, Uttar Pradesh, on July 13, 2023. Representatives from Ola and Uber have been invited for discussions regarding integration. The Transportation Department has also instructed a meeting with representatives from UP 112 to coordinate the implementation and integration of the plan. Additionally, the department has been directed to study the Nayan App.
