Shivpal Yadav calls for truce with SP president Akhilesh Yadav

Mainpuri: Appealing for a truce within Samajwadi Party (SP), Shivpal Yadav on Tuesday suggested party president Akhilesh Yadav to unite the Yadav clan as well as the party for a better political future.

"To uplift the Samajwadi Party, Akhilesh Yadav should start listening to his father and party patriarch Mulayam Singh Yadav. Now, Akhilesh should put his ego aside and work to unite the party as well as the family," said Shivpal, who was side-lined from the party leadership right ahead of the 2017 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections.

Speaking at a family function here, he further claimed that SP suffered massive defeats in 2014 Lok Sabha elections and 2017 assembly polls because Akhilesh did not respect Mulayam Singh's suggestions.

• Akhilesh Yadav did not distribute party tickets as per the instructions by Mulayam Singh and me.
