Rain in UP: Heavy to very heavy Rainfall alert in Kanpur, Lucknow & these cities

Amidst the scorching heat and humidity, people have breathed a sigh of relief due to the torrential rain.

Lucknow: After a long wait, rain has finally started in many cities of UP including Kanpur. It is raining torrentially in Kanpur with strong thunder of clouds. Rain has also started in Chitrakoot, Etawah, Auraiya, Banda, Fatehpur, Unnao, Hardoi, Hamirpur. Heavy rain has been warned from 18 to 22 July. Amidst the scorching heat and humidity, people have breathed a sigh of relief due to the torrential rain.

Rain Alert in Kanpur:

Along with this, the Meteorological Department has also issued a red alert. The Meteorological Department has advised to be cautious with lightning. It started raining from midnight on Monday and continued till morning. Before this, it rained heavily from around 3 pm to 5.30 pm on Sunday midnight.

75 mm of rain was recorded in about two and a half hours, which is the highest in a day in this season. In the same month (Ashan) on July 8, there was 40 mm of rain.

Monsoon 2021:

The effect of the torrential rain was that there was no feeling of heat and humidity throughout the day. There is a possibility of heavy rain in many cities of UP for the next three days. Over 100 mm of rain has fallen in the last 24 hours. The Indian Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rains in UP, Uttarakhand.

According to the Meteorological Department of Chandrashekhar Azad University of Agriculture and Technology (CSA), there may be heavy rain in other districts of the state including Kanpur, Bundelkhand till July 22. The Meteorological Department says that the south-west monsoon has become active again.

Drop in temperature:

Due to the heavy rains on Sunday, a drop of five degrees Celsius has been recorded in the day and night temperatures. The temperature dropped below normal. The maximum temperature was recorded at 30.4 degrees Celsius (2.6 degrees below normal) and the minimum temperature was 25.6 degrees Celsius (0.5 degrees below normal). The wind speed was eight to ten km per hour.
