Ghaziabad: The flames of Haryana violence has reached Uttar Pradesh as a bus has been torched in Ghaziabad's Loni Chowk by the supporters of Gurmeet Ram Rahim, who on Friday is convicted of raping two of her disciples in 2002.

Hundreds of the baba's followers torched a DTC bus in Loni area of Ghaziabad.

Anand Kumar, ADG Law and Order, has ordered strict checking and patrolling in the areas adjoining Delhi and Haryana.

He said, "Alert sounded in adjoining districts to ensure no spillover of trouble in UP through strict check on borders."

In view of violent protests in Punjab and Haryana, Section 144 has been imposed in Uttar Pradesh's Muzaffarnagar, Shamli, Noida, Ghaziabad and Baghpat.

District Magistrate Ghaziabad Ministhy S has announced that all the schools will remain closed tomorrow as a precautionary measure, in view of current situation.

Enraged supporters of Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh resorted to large-scale violence in Punjab and Haryana, killing at least 12 people. Nearly 150 vehicles have been torched at various places including Panchkula, where the CBI court is located.
