Raebareli: Five people lynched to death over cash dispute

Raebareli: Five people were lynched to death by mob at Apta village of Uttar Pradesh's Raebareli late on Monday.

Incident took place after five men, who came in a Scorpio, opened fire at Raja Yadav, son of Itaura Pradhan Ramshree.

Angry villagers chased the vehicle for few metres after which the driver of Scorpio lost control and rammed into an electric pole and overturned.

Prima facie it seemed that vehicle caught fire due to spark in the petrol tank.

Abhay Kumar Prasad, ADG Lucknow, said that two people died in the vehicle fire while three others were beaten to death by villagers.

It is said that there was a cash dispute between the assailants and the Pradhan's two sons.

Police, however, arrested both the sons of Gram Pradhaan.
