Prior to UP polls, EC transfers IAS and IPS officers
Lucknow: The Election Commission of India (ECI) on Friday transferred several IAS and IPS officers in the view of Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections starting from February 11.
Political parties had demanded their transfers alleging that they share proximity with the ruling Samajwadi Party government.

EC, however, has not removed the Director General of Police Javeed Ahmed and Uttar Pradesh Chief Secretary Rahul Bhatnagar.
Surprisingly, despite several complaints, the DM and SP of Firozabad were not removed even as the district is going to polls on Saturday.
