New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party has requested the Election Commission to keep a check on Muslim voters wearing burqa in a bid to curb bogus voting in the sixth phase of Uttar Pradesh Assembly Elections 2017.

The BJP has written a letter to the EC, requesting it to deploy women force to keep a check on the bogus voting. It could be mentioned that Uttar Pradesh has witnessed peaceful assembly polls in five phases till now and the voting for the second last phase is scheduled on March 4.

The seven-phased elections began in the state on February 11 and will conclude on March 8. The counting of votes and the announcement of the results is scheduled for March 11.
