UP Polls 2017: Polling starts amid disruptions at the booths

Lucknow: The second phase of Uttar Prdaesh assembly election began with disruptions on Wednesday. Several polling booths in the districts saw either late start of voting or it could not be started yet due to poor functioning of the administration.

While voting could not be started at polling booths 191, 192, 193 in Nehtaur assembly constituency due to lack of electricity, Glitch in EVM machine halted voting process at Badaun Sadar constituency's S.K.Inter College-booth no. 183.

Voters who went to cast their votes at polling booth number 292 in Moradabad district created chaos due to delay in polling. They said, "Polling had to begin at 0700 hours but officers have not yet set up the machines."

Cases of dysfunctional EVM machines were also reported in Shahjahanpur and Bareilly.
