PM Modi spreading hatred for electoral benefits: Rahul Gandhi

Bahraich: Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi on Friday blamed Prime Minister Narendra Modi of spreading hatred across Uttar Pradesh for electoral gains, and said that his party's alliance with Samajwadi Party (SP) has rattled the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader.

Addressing an election rally here, the Congress scion said, "The SP-Congress alliance has rattled PM Modi and he has understood that BJP has no chance of winning the elections in UP. Hence, he is trying to polarise voters on the lines of their caste through his speeches. But this time, BJP's senseless tricks will not fetch them the desired results," he claimed.

He mocked at the Centre's 'Make in India' scheme, saying, "Most of the goods being sold in the Indian markets have the tag of 'Made in China'. Even my mobile phone is made in China. Nothing is being made in India. PM Modi has been lying to us about his 'Make in India' campaign."

He compared the Indian Prime Minister with famous Bollywood villain 'Gabbar Singh' of 'Sholay', saying, "People have been ditched by BJP as their pre-poll promises suggested that PM Modi would work as Shah Rukh Khan of ‘Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge’ but instead they got Gabbar Singh of ‘Sholay’.”

Taking a dig at the central government over the November 8 decision of demonetisation, he claimed that through the move, PM Modi has intentionally handed over more than Rs 1.5 lakh crore to the 50 richest families of the country.

"PM Modi forced people to stand in bank and ATM queues and at the same time helped Vijay Mallya escape from the country. Instead of working to bring back the black money stashed abroad, he launched an onslaught over the common man with demonetisation," he added.
