In Bahraich, Uttar Pradesh, Tejas Dahiya, a 12th-grade student from NCR, has launched pilot projects to boost women’s entrepreneurship and public health using digital platforms. Supported by local administration, Tejas developed the “E-Shakti” and “Sabla” apps to connect women entrepreneurs with broader markets and provide them with training and financial support. Through E-Shakti, rural women in self-help groups can participate in digital commerce without requiring extensive technical skills, promoting local economic growth and financial independence.

The Sabla app offers training in various trades like handicrafts, soft toys and automotive repair, empowering women to enter skilled fields traditionally dominated by men. The platform provides resources like scholarships and mentorship to overcome financial and social barriers.

Additionally, Tejas collaborated with Pune-based Initiative Engineering to introduce “Edose Chloro,” an IoT solution for water safety, in Bahraich Nagar Palika Parishad. This device remotely monitors chlorination levels, sending SMS alerts for faults, ensuring safe drinking water.

These initiatives, backed by Bahraich district administration.

District Magistrate Mrs. Monika Rani, said that these applications and e-commerce platforms will be formally launched after Diwali 2024 and could expand across Uttar Pradesh, setting new standards in women’s empowerment and public health.
