Lucknow: A high level meeting has been called by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, on Friday, after a massive security lapse inside the legislative assembly of the state was reported.

It could be recalled that an explosive was recovered from inside the Uttar Pradesh assembly complex, on Wednesday last, near the chair of the opposition leader Ram Govind Chaudhary.

The security forces had seized an explosive called PETN (Pentaerythritol Tetranitrate), one of the most powerful eruptive materials ever known, and sent it to the forensic department, who has revealed the details about the explosive.

This incident has unveiled the laxity in security arrangements in the state and the worried CM Adityanath has called a meeting of senior security and administrative officials.

According to the official sources, “the explosive was found wrapped in a plastic bag and was recovered placed under the MLA's seat.”

It is a popular fact about the PETN that it could not be traced by a metal detector.

The security officials stated that a probe has been launched in the case.
