UP minister, four officials injured in stage collapse

Sant Kabir Nagar: Uttar Pradesh technical and medical education minister Ashutosh Tandon and four others on Sunday sustained minor injuries after they fell down following a stage collapse at the sports stadium in Sant Kabir Nagar district.

The incident took place when Ashutosh Tandon was distributing crop loan waiver certificates to farmers.

Chief development officer (CDO) Hakim Singh, additional district magistrate (ADM) Shishir Srivastav and two other officials were among those injured.

“The DM has set up a three-member committee to probe the matter. The panel comprises the ASP, the CDO and the ADM. Action will be taken against those found guilty,” said superintendent of police (SP) Hemraj Meena.
