Security arrangements beefed up for Modi’s rally in Saharanpur

Saharanpur/Meerut: The security arrangements have been beefed up in parts of western Uttar Pradesh ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Vikas Parv Maharally’, which is scheduled for Thursday, in Saharanpur.

Special protection Group (SPG), National Security Guards (NSG) and police forces from eight districts of UP have been deployed at the venue.

Apart from paramilitary soldiers, Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) troops will also be seen maintaining security of the rally.

Headed by Inspector General (IG) Meerut Sujit Pandey, the team of police officials to monitor the security arrangements include nine superintendents of police (SPs), 20 additional superintendents of police (ASPs), 35 circle officers (COs), 100 inspectors as well as 300 sub-inspectors.

Highlights:

  • Fire brigade teams will be seen deployed at the venue.
  • As many as seven fire tenders will be available.
  • Fire officers from Saharanpur, Ghaziabad, Noida and other districts have been appointed to the rally.
  • The PM is expected to reach the venue by 1700 hours.
