Meerut DM Chandrakala is functioning as SP worker, BJP complains to EC

Lucknow: The Bharatiya Janata Party has lodged a complaint with the Election Commission against District Magistrate of Meerut B Chandrakala charging her with functioning in a partisan manner in the favour of ruling Samajwadi Party in view of Uttar Pradesh assembly elections.

''Chandrakala, who has a penchant for publicity on social media and media, has been working as a SP worker and adversely impacting the functioning of BJP workers,'' the UP state party spokesman Dr Chandramohan said adding '' a complaint against her has been filed with the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of the state by district president of BJP Karunesh Nandan Garg.

In the complaint, the BJP leader has alleged that the DM is preventing BJP programmes by giving wrong interpretations of election code of conduct while facilitating the ruling party hence should be removed from the district for impartial elections in Meerut.

Recalling that Chandrakala had earlier been in the news for her arrogant behaviour and partisan working in the favour of SP, the BJP has demanded her immediate transfer from Meerut.

It may be mentioned that the 7 seats of Meerut will go to polls in first phase of the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections on February 11.
