Noida: After the completion of hearing in the Dadri lynching case on Thursday, the district court announced that the verdict will be given on July 6 next.

The hearing was scheduled to be concluded on June 13 but it was delayed owing to the court’s vacation.

A five-page petition was filed by one Suraj Pal who had also registered a complaint against Akhlaq’s family at Jarcha Police Station in Gautam Budh Nagar district of Uttar Pradesh.

Other highlights:-

  • An investigation report was presented by the police to the court.
  • A ‘mahapanchayat’ will be held by the residents of Satha-Pachchasi region on Sunday to influence the court.
  • Besides others, several state ministers are expected to participate in the mahapanchayat.
