Bareilly: The Barelvi sect of Muslims on Tuesday issued a ‘fatwa’ against Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev asking to stop using Patanjali products.

The ‘fatwa’ issued by Markazi Darul Ifta of Ala Hazrat Dargah in Bareilly district of Uttar Pradesh sought to impose a blanket ban of Patanjali products because according to it these contained ‘cow urine’ consumption of which is prohibited in the Islam.

‘’ Anything which contains cow urine cannot be used in any form orally or externally,’’ the ‘fatwa’ said. In this case, the Sharia never allows use of Patanjali products.

Mohammad Bakhtiyar Khan from Darul Ifta said that even the medicines which contained cow urine are prohibited while every product of Patanjali has it as an ingredient.

Similarly, Sadar Mufti of Markazi Darul Ifta Mohd Haqim Kadri and Mufti Mohd Ali Ranvi echoed the same views while supporting the ‘fatwa’ against Ramdev’s Patanjali.
