Uttar Pradesh | Car plunges off bridge in Jaunpur; one killed

Jaunpur: A man lost his life and his wife and two children were critically injured when their car fell from a bridge in Jaunpur district of Uttar Pradesh, police said on Monday.

The incident took place on the Dhaniya Mau bridge around midnight on Sunday. A container coming from behind also fell from the bridge on the car below, smashing it completely.

The 39-year-old Car owner identified as Sharad died on spot while while his wife Pragati (35) and children Sauda(7), and Shamli(4), were critically injured.

Two JCB's were pressed into service to remove the container from over the car after which only the rescue operation could be undertaken.

It was a tough time pulling the injured from the mangled car. The deceased was from Varanasi.
