Major blaze at Metro hospital in Noida Sec 12; rescue operations underway

Noida: Major fire that broke out at the 3rd and 4th floor of Metro Hospital in Sector 12 here on Thursday has come under control and no casualties have been reported. Six fire tender vehicles were put into work to douse the flames.

Metro Hospital chairman Purshotam Lal said fire was small in nature and no patient was injured in the accident.

Initial efforts were made to evacuate the hospital and shift patients to nearby hospitals as there were several critical patients in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

As many as 250 patients were evacuated from the premises, fire officials had said.

The authorities, however, have not been able to ascertain the cause of the fire in the private hospital.
