Lucknow: Dubbing the expulsion of Uttar Pradesh Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) Mahila President Madhu Mishra over her anti-dalit remarks as ‘eyewash’, the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) on Tuesday descended upon the saffron party asking why the Union Minister General V K Singh was not expelled for the similar expression.

“It is for everyone to come to realise that the Bharatiya Janata Party had taken action against Madhu Mishra under political compulsion with an eye over the next assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh,” BSP Supremo Mayawati said in a statement.

Asking a stringent action against gen V K Singh for shaming his post and the Constitutional oath by equating Dalits to 'animals', Mayawati, in a vitriolic attack on the BJP said, why was he not taken to task? '' Not only V K Singh but the Human Resource Devlopment Minister Smiriti Irani should also have been sacked following suicide of Dalit student Rohit Vemula in Hyderabad University,'' she pointed out thereby accusing the BJP of adopting the 'double character'.

The BSP leader minced no words while stating the BJP had always been Anti-Dalit in ideology and as well as action. The Dalits of the country would never forgive BJP as its designs after having come to power at the centre had been exposed, she added.
