Uttar Pradesh government doubles relief fund for UP Police martyrs

Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh government has doubled the relief fund, to be given to the families of martyred police officers of the state, from Rs 20 Lakh to Rs 40 Lakhs.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath,in an event organised here to observe the Police Commemoration Day, on Saturday, announced that the families of the bravehearts of the state will be given Rs 40 Lakhs as relief fund amount while their other allowances will also be increased.

The CM also met the kin of officers and assured jobs to the family members of the martyred police officers.

Hailing the the tireless efforts of the Uttar Pradesh police for working tirelessly to make UP a crime free state, the CM paid homage to the martyred khaki officers.

Chief Minister Adityanath applauded the efforts of the UP police in smooth celebrations of all the festivals in the state.

He, however, said that the law and order in the state still needs some improvement and the government is making serious efforts for the making it happen.

Here are the highlights of CM Yogi Adityanath's speech:

  • The Uttar Pradesh government is committed towards working for the braveheart police officers of the state.
  • We have appointed the family members of 400 martyred jawans on job and have admitted 47000 as the PAC jawans in the state.
  • The government has made serious efforts to create a safe environment in the state. The police has also helped the government, taking it as a mission, despite the problems it has faced.
  • 543 face offs against the criminals have been conducted in the sate by the officers and 1080 criminals carrying bounties on their heads have been nabbed. At least 22 criminals have also been encountered by our officers while 130 have been injured.
  • We have developed cyber police stations in Lucknow and Noida to lessen the cyber crime. 81 members of 6 cyber crime groups have been arrested.
  • UP Anti-Terrorist Squad has arrested 19 terrorists and killed one, who were trying to harm the law and order of the state. Th state ATS has also trained the SWAT team of the officers to fight the dangerous criminals.

Uttar Pradesh commemoration day parade was organised in the police lines in the state capital to honour the 76 jawans in the state who martyred in a year. UP has the highest number of police martyrs in the country. Two circle officers, one inspector, 15 sub-inspectors, 16 head constables and 42 constables gave their lives of their lives to maintain the crime free environment in the state.
