UP CM bows to the demands of Shahi Imam Bukhari

Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav on Sunday assured a delegation of Muslim leaders led by Shahi Imam of Jama Masjid, Syed Ahmed Bukhari, to consider their demands for the upliftment of minority community within three months.

"The CM has assured us that our demands would be fulfilled within three months," said Bukhari.

Demands:

  • Reservation to Muslims like in Kerala and Karnataka.
  • Start Urdu classes and provide jobs to Muslim youths.
  • Open Urdu schools.
  • Life and properties of Muslims should be protected.

Earlier on Saturday, Bukhari had put Akhilesh government on a three months notice for fulfilling the promises made to Muslims
