Thief beaten to death by villager in Shrawasti

Bahraich: In yet another incident of lynching, a burglar was beaten to death by angry villagers on Friday in the wee hours in Ikauna area of Shrawasti district in Uttar Pradesh.

Bagha, the deceased, scaled the house of one Yunus in Misrauliya village at around 0300 hours and was caught red handed. He was beaten with canes by villagers, police said.

• Many criminal cases were registered against Bagha.
• His body was sent for the post mortem and investigation was underway.

In a similar incident a week ago a miscreant was thrashed to death by villagers in Mau.
