Teachers up in arms against officers on Mid Day Meal issue

Lucknow: All is not well between the primary teachers and education officers as now the teachers have announced to boycott the preparations of mid day meal.

Earlier, the Uttar Pradesh government had announced that assistance from teachers will not be taken in preparation of mid day meals in the drought affected area during summer holidays but now the Basic Siksha Adhikari (BSA) in different districts have given this responsibility to the teachers again.

Agitation:

The Uttar Pradesh Prathmik Sikshak Sangh have announced to boycott from the mid day meal preparations during the summer holidays while they will soon be submitting a memorandum to the district magistrate against this.

Dinesh Sharma, a member of the Sikshak Sangh here said that a group of representative recently met Principal Secretary of Education and he has assured them that their help will not be taken.

  • Summer vacations of teachers have been announced from June 21 to June 30.
  • The mid day meal will be given to students in 50 drought affected areas.
  • One teacher will have to reach the school every day and take the attendance of the students.
