TCS will not leave Lucknow, says UP CM Yogi Adityanath

Lucknow: Amid the reports of closure of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) Lucknow office, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday said that 'TCS will not leave the city'.

"TCS is operating from a rented building in Gomti Nagar locality of the state capital, and is mulling to close its branch because of the rise in the rent amount," said Yogi, adding, "I had a meeting with the company officials to ensure their presence here."

He informed that two of his secretaries are consistently in touch with the company representatives to find a way out.

"I have given the task to two secretaries of the government to make sure that the company gets its issues solved and continues to stay here. I will again have a meeting with TCS officials on Friday," Yogi Adityanath added.

"I hope the problem is solved within next two-three days and TCS continues to operate in Lucknow," the UP CM concluded.

It may be mentioned that TCS is willing to set up a branch in Noida where it has planned to hire around 20,000 techies. The company was also thinking about shifting its Lucknow professionals to the same venue by the end of this year.

It may be mentioned that TCS's departure from the city will risk the jobs of about 2,000 techies.
