Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav’s refusal to have an alliance with Mukhtar Ansari’s the Quami Ekta Dal (QED) may bring two political parties , the Peace Party of India (PPP) and the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) together.

According to informed sources , Dr Mohd Ayub of the PPP has approached Asaduddin Owaisi for a alliance between the two.

Political pundits say that if such an alliance happens in UP, major political outfits including SP and BJP in the state may largely lose the Muslim vote –bank.

Mukhtar Ansari’s brother Afzaal slammed SP on cancelation of alliance

  • Both the parties entered into an alliance during an event
  • Merger between QED and SP was later cancelled as CM Akhilesh Yadav was not in the favour of any such alliance
  • Afzaal slammed the ruling state government for cancelling the merger
  • He said that QED will give SP a reply later

Afzaal had also targeted AIMIM’s Owaisi

  • During a programme last year, Afzaal said that media elevated Asaduddin as leader
  • Asaduddin has no base in UP and he will face Bihar like defeat in the state

Sources now say that both have decided to let bygones be bygones for political gains in Uttar Pradesh.
