Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav is likely to meet Samajwadi Party patriarch Mulayam Singh Yadav and senior leader Shivpal Singh Yadav to discuss future strategy after the party symbol of 'cycle' has been allotted to the former. Despite being on the side of losing faction, Shivpal may still be cajoled to contest assembly election from his Jaswantnagar seat for Akhilesh.

The nominations for the first phase polls get underway on Tuesday, in all probability, a common formula may be emerged later in the day in which Shivpal may play an important role in the SP politics. Everything will now depend upon the Mulayam whose stance will decide the future course of action in the party.

It was only yesterday when Mulayam had indicated to oppose Akhilesh tooth and nail and will field his candidates against his. He had gone to an extent to describe Akhilesh as 'anti-muslim', rather harsh statement to made on the eve of commencement of poll process.

The SP MLC and a known Akhilesh loyalist Udayveer Singh, who was the first to shot off a letter against Mulayam, told www.newstrack.com that the best would be done to ensure SP returns to power. When asked about the possibility of Shivpal playing an important role despite a lot of bad blood between two factions, he said ''why not, he is senior party leader and his experience and seniority will come handy for the party.''
