Samajwadi Party candidate dies of heart attack during campaign

Lucknow: Ahead of second phase of Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections, Samajwadi Party candidate Chandra Shekhar Kannaujia died of heart attack on Sunday.

He died during a public meeting in the Aalapur assembly constituency of Ambedkar Nagar district, from where he was contesting the polls.

District Magistrate has sent the report to the Election Commission, seeking further directions in this regard.

It could be mentioned here that Ambedkar Nagar will go for polls in the fifth phase of assembly elections.
