PHOTOS: Ansari kin, BSP leaders attend Mayawati's event barefoot

Lucknow: Mayawati's influence over her partymen was once again witnessed on Thursday when a few senior leaders of Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) and the family members of mafia-turned-politician Mukhtar Ansari were seen barefoot at her party office here, while 'Behan Ji' was wearing sandals.

BSP leaders, including Satish Chandra Mishra and Naseemuddin Siddiqui, were seen standing barefoot behind the party supremo when she was addressing a media gathering at the party office.

Mayawati announced the candidature of Quami Ekta Dal chief Mukhtar Ansari, his brother Sibakatullah Ansari and his son Abbas Ansari for the UP Assembly elections right after inducting them in the party fold.

Not only the BSP leaders but Ansari kin also ditched their slippers at the party function.

Mukhtar was given the BSP ticket from Mau Sadar constituency, while his brother Sibakatullah and son Abbas were given party tickets from Mohammadabad and Ghosi seats, respectively.
