Lucknow: Mohsin Raza, Minister of State in the Uttar Pradesh government, has landed in a soup as the Shia Central Waqf Board is likely to take action against him and his family members for allegedly grabbing the Waqf land.

Mohsin, who is also the Minister of Muslim Waqf, is accused of illegally acquiring the Moti Masjid land in Husainabad locality of the state capital. It may be mentioned that Moti Masjid is a Waqf Board property.

The board has issues notices against 70 people who have been accused of illegally grabbing and selling the Waqf lands. Mohsin Raza and a few of his family members are also among the accused.

The board had summoned the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and his kins twice on June 22 and July 10, but they never turned up.

Subsequently, under the clause 52 and 52 (A) of Waqf Board Act, the board has reserved all the documents for decision in the case against the UP minister, assuming that he and his family members have nothing to say in matter.
