Lucknow: Amid hectic political developments in Uttar Pradesh, Samajwadi Party President Mulayam Singh Yadav has sent a letter to the Election Commission asking it not to correspond with Ram Gopal Yadav as he was no more the party's General Secretary.

In the letter, the SP Chief informed the EC that since Ram Gopal Yadav had been expelled from the party for six years, he was no more a bonafide party office bearer hence no correspondence on behalf of the party should be entertained.

It was only yesterday when Mulayam expelled Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav and Ram Gopal Yadav from the party for six years. While Akhilesh was charged with releasing a parallel candidate list , Ram Gopal was found violating the party constitution by convening an emergency meeting of the party.
