Man awaits Right to Information response since seven years

Lucknow: ‘Life is filled with unanswered questions, but it is the courage to seek those answers that continues to give meaning to life.’ will be an apt phrase for Mahendra Kumar Vishvakarma,who has been waiting for a response to his Right to Information (RTI) query since seven years.

Mahendra, a resident of Jaunpur district in Uttar Pradesh , asked a question from the government why should he be not included in the Scheduled Caste despite Vishwakarma caste is included in this.

This is when his ordeal started. For seven years, he had to run from pillar to post to get answer which was not coming his way.

The much awaited RTI:

• Mahendra filed an RTI on January 30, 2009.
• He sought the reply on denying to write SC/ST on the caste certificate of his son.
• He wrote several reminders but his efforts went futile.
• State Information commissioner Paras Nath Gupta is hearing on this case.
